Exchanges with BMZ in Berlin – November 2025

The Nabni Building for Peace (B4P) Facility were very pleased with the fruitful exchanges between the Facility and the leadership of BMZ (represented by Ms Christine Toetzke – Commissioner for the Middle East, North Africa, Southeast Europe/Eastern Europe and Latin America), KFW (represented by Marc Engelhardt, Director MENA) and NRC (represented by Jan Egeland, Secretary General) at the BMZ Office in Berlin on 21 November 2025.

The discussions – which included over 40 other participants from BMZ and German Development Cooperation actors who joined us in-person and online, focused on locally-led approaches to recovery and reconstruction in the MENA region, as well as the work and future plans of the Nabni B4P Facility.

The meetings also marked a pivotal moment and key milestone for the Nabni B4P Facility, with partners shortly commencing implementation of the projects that we have co-designed in Iraq and Yemen.

A link to few snippets from the discussions can be found on our LinkedIn page below – along with links to the contributions made by our partners from Iraq and Yemen.
